Big Bird Feeders

How can I keep those big blackbirds from my bird feeder, they chase away all the smaller birds, & make a mess!?
.one possible option is a feeder with an adjustable treadle for weight. cost about sixty bucks. have had one for better than ten years, so it probably has more than paid for itself in seed saved.
.another option would be to encircle the feeder with a wire mesh that let the size of bird you want in and excludes bigger ones.
