Attaching heavy Birdhouse to treetop stump?
it’s made of rough sawn cedar (fence boards) built with 1×6′s and 2 stories tall . i want to mount it flush with the top of a 20″ diameter oak tree where it was sawed years ago (picture in your mind basically a 12′ tall tree stump). the cut isn’t quite level so i need to shim the top of the stump. what’s the best way to mount the house to the stump top (the cedar is soft and the oak is hard). will wood glue hold it? thanks.
it’s a 12 unit purple martin house – not a feeder.
i cant screw down from the inside – there is a 2″ wide lip though that forms the base.
wood glue doesn’t hold up well to weather try liquid nails
