Cat Birdhouse
What am i supposed to do with this newborn baby bird?
okay., we had this Birdhouse attached to one of our trees near our mailbox.. i knew there were 5 little baby bulebirds in that nest and while going to the mailbox., i seen 3 little bodies laying on the ground., all were dead., and then i seen another one a little ways away., and it moved.., its the only one living., and i cant find the 5th one.., i got it before my cat could., have it in a bowl with lots of rags in it., im trying to keep it warm..,
What should i do with it? I cant just sit it back out there so my cat can kill it.., and i dont even understand how they got out of The Birdhouse.., the nest is far down in the house so my cat couldn’t possibly reached them., plus hes really fat and can barely climb a tree more than a foot off the ground. What should i do?!?! Please give me answers!
p.s. It is almost bald with tiny hairs(fuzz) just on its head and a few right down the center of its back.

Licensed wildlife rehabilitators have the specialized training to care for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals, and they have the required state and federal licenses that allow them to keep the wild animals until they are healthy enough to be released.
Do not take the animal to a vet – vets are for pets, and most vets do not have the expertise to care for wild animals; nor do most vets have the proper licenses that would allow them to keep a recuperating wild animal.
Do not attempt to keep this bird and care for it yourself. In the US, ALL native migratory birds – not just endangered species – are protected under federal law (Migratory Bird Treaty Act), and it is illegal to keep any protected bird unless you have the required permits. Penalties for violating this law include fines of up to $500 and/or up to 6 months in jail for each offense.
Many other countries have similar laws pursuant to the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which is an international treaty, protecting their native species.
While preparing him to go to the rehabber, place him in a small box lined with paper towel – not cloth, as the bird’s nails could get caught in the material. Cover the box and place it in a warm, dark, quiet area. Do not allow any animals, children or excitable adults near it. Do not attempt to feed the bird – no injured birds should be fed before being evaluated by a medical expert. Do not attempt to give it any water – it could aspirate and die.
If it is bleeding, you need to get it help immediately, before it bleeds to death.
