What are good materials to Build A Birdhouse?
for a school project
Wood, bamboo, gourds, etc. I always put a sealer on mine. I have 5 different ones in my backyard which are all full right now.
One is a cat house which I made, it is a large cat with the hole being the mouth.
One is a brown eyed susan flower. My granddaughter did this when she ended kindergarten. My husband cut the wood and the front is just a flower. The back is just a box. The hole is the center of the flower. I gave her cheap ceramic paint to paint it. The center around the hole she just used a hard brush and “bristled” it. She used a ruler to make the lines for the petals and she used a pencil for the perch. The rest is all yellow. She gave these to her teacher and bus driver as end of the year presents. They loved it.
The rest are just normal Bird Houses. The key is to use a sealer on top. My cat house is 20 years old and always occupied.
We even hung a canteen on the back porch that was open when my husband got out of the service. That too was soon filled.
